Many of our members have not rely exclusively on public school testing. They have got testing from private diagnosticians, child psychologists, school psychologists, and educational evaluators who are familiar with and able to administer a number of the multitude of tests that are available. We have found that public school staff are often limited as to the types of tests available for them to use and are unable to probe adequately, despite unusual scatter in a subtest profile.
We have found that contacting a school that specialized in your child's disability is a good resource. These schools work with many different evaluators and often will share some names of private evaluators they have experience with.
While each of the following professionals comes recommended by at least three SPED PAC members, we cannot in any way guarantee the result. It is important to check their references, review their credentials, and interview them to understand whether their skills and approach are a good fit for your child.
